A degree in Law is one of the best courses to pursue in Kenya. Several universities offer the course but few are accredited. The minimum requirement to pursue LLB in Kenya is a C+ in KCSE plus good grades (C+ and above) in English and one humanity.
In Kenya,the Universities are allowed to offer law
1. Kenyatta University (KU)
2. University of Nairobi-Parklands Campus
3. Strathmore University
4. Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT)
5. Mount Kenya University (MKU)
There are two ways of pursuing law in Kenya, you can join any university as a regular or parallel student. To join as a regular student, especially in government universities, you have to obtain at least an A- in KCSE while parallel students are required to have scored at least a C+ general grade and C+ in English. To join UoN as a regular student, the least you should score in KCSE is A- of 79 points. Parallel students are required to have the following score in KCSE.

In addition to the common regulations for the Bachelors Degree for the University of Nairobi, eligible
candidates must have at least grade B (Plain) in English. Categories of persons to whom admission is
open include:
- a) Holder of degree(s) from a recognized university
- b) Holder of Advanced Level Certificate with at least three principal passes equivalent.
- c) Holder of KCSE Certificate with minimum university entry points of at least C+.
- d) Holders of at least a credit pass in a Diploma from a recognized institution in addition to KCSE
Certificate with a Mean Grade of at least C.
At Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology(JKUAT),the training is offered at Karen Campus,and here are entry requirements
Admission Requirements
2.1 To be eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Laws Year 1, a Candidate must satisfy the following academic qualifications:
2.1.1 Be a holder of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) (or equivalent certificate) with a mean grade of at least a C+ (C Plus) or equivalent qualification, OR
2.1.2 Be a holder of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) (or equivalent certificate) with a mean grade of C (C Plain) or equivalent qualification and a distinction or credit pass in a relevant diploma lasting at least two taught years from an institution recognised by the JKUAT Senate and accredited to offer diploma, OR
2.1.3 Be a holder of a Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (K.A.C.E) with at least two principal passes (Principal A, B or C) or equivalent qualification as determined by the JKUAT Senate, OR
2.1.4 Be a holder of a degree or degrees from a recognized University, AND
2.1.5 Must have at least grade B (B Plain) in English at Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent qualification.

Entry Requirements
Candidates must satisfy the minimum University entry requirements. In addition, the following are the minimum requirements for entry into our Bachelor of Laws programme:
i. A mean grade of B in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) including a minimum of a B in English.
ii. Any other type of qualification including the former A-level Kenyan system, regional,or international qualifications must be equivalent to the minimum requirement outlined
above. The equivalency of such grades can be obtained from the Kenya NationalExaminations Council.
iii. Mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE and progressed from certificate to Diploma at Kenyatta University or any other recognized/accredited Institutions.
NB:To become a lawyer in Kenya, you have to complete a law degree and a diploma from the Kenya School of Law

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination is an examination that is offered after four year cycle in secondary education. The examination is normally offered in November/December each year. It is open to all bona fide residents of Kenya who meet the examination requirements as stipulated by KNEC.
